Från det stora mötet om världsekonomin i FN för några dagar sen. Av allt att döma var detta möte inte bara ägnat åt att befästa och förstärka finanselitens makt, de hårdnackade extremister som har greppet om Europa och USA. Därför deltog inte västländernas ledare, inte heller IMF och världsbanken och det har nästan inte nämnts alls i svenska mainstreammedia.

The UN General Assembly is in the last day of a summit on reforming financial regulation in the wake of the global economic crisis. A draft proposal set for approval today calls for increasing aid to poorer nations, tightening regulation of complex financial instruments, and reforming the IMF and other multilateral institutions. On Thursday, Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa said member states should consider abolishing the IMF. He also criticized the profit-driven financial system.

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa:

"We who want to be citizens of the world cannot understand schemes that always end up trampling and enslaving the poorest. How can we understand so-called globalization that does not seek to create world citizens, but only consumers. It does not seek to create a global society, just a global market.”

Det är i länder som Ecuador något verkligt nytt och friskt verkar vara på gång, Rafael Correa verkar ha stor kunskap om finans och penningpolitik. Enligt John Perkins är man på gång att införa en egen räntefri valuta i Ecuador (han nämner detta i slutet av den andra videon - just detta avsnitt som ljudfil), precis det som måste till för ett friskt system. Även om det finns de, t.ex Ellen Brown, som menar att det går att ha ett fungerande system med ränta om det är staten som har kontroll över penningutgivningen och penningmängden. Det viktiga är att komma ur de privata bankkartellernas grepp om ett land ska kunna ha något som kan kallas självstyre!

Iran urges fundamental economic change

Iran has called for a "fundamental change" in the international financial system to counter the current global economic meltdown.

"Essential changes in the global economic structure and giving equal roles to all countries in resolving the financial crisis are necessary," Iran’s Ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazaei told the UN meeting on the World Economic Crisis on Friday.
